UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

The University of Glasgow has several International Leadership Scholarships available to International and EU (non-UK) students starting a postgraduate taught Masters pogram in any discipline Deadline: July 31, 2023 Award: £10,000 Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must; 1. CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS Chevening scholarship is offered to foreign students looking to enroll in a one-year master's program at UK institutions. It is a fully-funded program that covers tuition fees, travel, and living expenses to stay in the UK. Open: August 23, 2023 Award: Fully Funded Eligibility: Applicants for a Chevening Scholarship must: 1. Be a citizen of a nation or territory that is eligible for Chevening. 2. Finished all requirements for an undergraduate degree that will allow you to enroll in a postgraduate program at a UK university. 3. Possess a minimum of two years' worth (2,800 hours) of work experience. SEMESTER AT SEA SCHOLARSHIPS


Each semester, ISE and SAS offer scholarships, need-based grants, and merit grants to make it possible for more students to set sail and join our living and learning community. An average of 60% of voyagers receive some form of aid and scholarships each voyage. Even students who don't receive financial aid at their home colleges or universities may qualify for funding assistance through Semester at Sea. In addition, many students can apply the aid they receive from their home institution to Semester at Sea.

Students must be enrolled in a University outside of the United States BILL GATES UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP The Bill Gates Scholarship for Undergraduate Students is Funded by Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Each year, the Gate USA scholarship is awarded to 300 of these student leaders, with the intention of helping them reach their full potential. This is a highly selective last-dollar scholarship for high school, minority, and senior students from low-income families. Deadline: Sept 13, 2023 Award: Fully Funded Eligibility:

This scholarship provides funding for study abroad to American and Canadian students with aspirations of becoming exemplary computer scientists. THE BENJAMIN A. GILMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship stands as one of the most fiercely competitive travel abroad scholarships available. Its primary objective is to promote diversity among students participating in study abroad programs. In essence, the Gilman Scholarship Program is accessible to U.S. students who already receive the Federal Pell Grant and aims to support underrepresented students who might not have considered studying abroad otherwise. Eligible applicants include students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, those with significant financial aid needs, individuals with disabilities, and students pursuing subjects that are less commonly explored abroad, such as STEM subjects. Deadline: October 2023

Award: Up to $5,000

Eligibility: 1. An undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States (including both two-year and four-year institutions);

2. Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship;

3. In the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program. Proof of program acceptance is required prior to award disbursement FUND FOR SCHOLARSHIP ABROAD

The Fund for Education Abroad takes great pride in offering inclusive scholarships to students who are typically underrepresented in study abroad programs. Preference is given to students of color, first-generation students, community college attendees, and others from diverse backgrounds during the application process. Deadline: October 2023

Eligibility:

1. U.S. citizen or permanent resident

2. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at U.S. institution of higher education (graduate students are not eligible) 3. Receiving credit at your home institution for the study abroad program USAC SCHOLARSHIPS

The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) awards students who demonstrate significant financial need with scholarships to support their study abroad aspirations annually. To be eligible for these study abroad scholarships, students must enroll in USAC study abroad programs. USAC’s scholarship offerings include General Scholarships for Non-Consortium Affiliate Students, Legacy Scholarships, and Program-Specific Scholarships. Deadline: October 2023

Global Experiences offers scholarships for both summer and semester terms in any of the organization’s 11 global cities. Full scholarships are available for semester-long programs, with special consideration given to those who are underrepresented in study abroad programs. Global Experiences also contributes to those who receive a Pell Grant or Benjamin A. Gillman scholarship, for both in person and virtual programs.


Award: $500 - $3,000 Deadline: October 1, 2023


Eligibility:

1. Students must meet the minimum requirements for the program to which they are applying 2. Have at least a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA.

VERTO OPPORTUNITY GRANT & VERTO SCHOLARS AWARD

The Verto Education Opportunity Grant can reduce tuition by as much as 72%. Funding is awarded based on Expected Family Contribution (determined by the FAFSA).

The Verto Scholars Award is offered to incoming students based on their high school GPA. Applicants with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will automatically be given a Verto Scholars Award.

Award: $5,000 - $14,000 Deadline: October 1, 2023


Eligibility: 1. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to qualify. 2. The Verto Scholars Award is renewable for a second Verto Experience provided the participant achieves a GPA of at least 3.5 on their first enrolled Verto term. ISA BY WORLDSTRIDES DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP


This scholarship is offered for summer and semester programs and is intended for students with identities historically underserved in education abroad. This can include, but is not limited to, individuals who identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, LGBTQIA+, First-Generation College Students, U.S. Military Veterans, students with disabilities, and/or students at Minority-Serving Institutions. Award: $2,500 - $5,000 Apply by: October 30


Eligibility:

1. GPA - Could be 2.50 or up to 3.30

2. Foreign language level 3. Academic Classification (like being a sophomore) FULBRIGHT FOREIGN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP The Fulbright Program for Foreign Students and Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA) is administered by the binational Fulbright Commissions / Foundations or the United States Embassies. All applications for foreign students and FLTA programs are processed by these offices. Deadline: November, 2023 Award: $4,000 Eligibility: 1. For the master’s program, a four-year bachelor’s degree or a combination of bachelor’s and master’s degrees for a total of 16 years of formal education at an accredited university. 2. For a doctorate, M.Phil, master’s degree, or equivalent degree (minimum 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university.

IES ABROAD

At IES Abroad, we are dedicated to enabling qualified students to join our programs, regardless of financial constraints. That's why we have allocated $5 million for study abroad scholarships and aid. With just one application, you can apply for all the IES Abroad scholarships and financial assistance that you qualify for. Our offerings include need-based aid, scholarships tailored to specific locations and majors, diversity scholarships, summer internship scholarships, grants for students attending public universities, and support for recipients of the Boren & Gilman scholarships, as well as students with disabilities. Deadline: November 1, 2023

Awards: Up to $5,000

Eligibility:

1. Open to students who have been traditionally under-represented on study abroad programs. This group includes, but is not limited to, students identifying by a certain race, sex, color, religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, national origin or ancestry, ethnic origin or veteran status.

2. Recipients must attend a college or university that is a Member or Associate Member of the IES Abroad Consortium. In addition, your home school must have a policy of transferring at least 75% of institutional aid for study abroad. SIT STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIPS Qualified students with an interest in SIT's study abroad programs have the opportunity to receive scholarship funding from the School for International Training. SIT provides an array of scholarships and grants that can be used to offset the expenses of tuition and housing accommodation for students during their study abroad experiences worldwide. Award: $500 - $5,000 Eligibility: SIT Study Abroad welcomes applications from undergraduate students who:

1. Are enrolled at an accredited college or university.

2. Have completed at least one year of college-level coursework at the time of application and preferably two years for IHP/Comparative programs.

3. Are in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 of higher*.

CEA CAPA works to increase access to international education experiences through increased funding by committing more than $2.0 million each year to their scholarship and grant programs. They aim to award funding that will support a student’s decision to go abroad.


CEA CAPA awards Academic Scholarships, Opportunity Grants, and Custom and Faculty-Led Program Scholarships. Award: $500 - $3,000 Apply by: November 15, 2023


Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be participating in a CEA CAPA Education Abroad program abroad

The program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for an International Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Have citizenship in a country other than the U.S. or possession of a nonimmigrant visa if residing in the U.S.

2. Hold an academic degree (earned in the U.S. or abroad) equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree completed by November 15, 2023.

3. Intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career and upon completion of their studies.

4. Be proficient in English CORINNE JEANNINE SCHILLINGS SCHOLARSHIPS

The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation provides both Silver and Gold Scholarships to girl scouts who have a desire to study abroad when they reach university. This “Travel Study” scholarship award is open to girl scouts pursuing any undergraduate area of study, major, or minor courses. Deadline: December 2023

Award: $1,000 Eligibility: 1. Recipient of the Girl Scout Silver or Gold Award. 2. 3.0 GPA. 3. Enrolled in an undergraduate program. Summer programs must be at least 6 weeks in length

BOREN SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS


Interested in U.S. national security issues? The Boren Awards Scholarship offers funding for undergraduates studying less commonly taught, minority world languages that are crucial for national security. Scholars have the opportunity to study abroad in their chosen country, excluding certain regions. In return for the funding, recipients must commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation. Be prepared for strong competition during the application process, but with awards typically around $8,000, it's worth giving it your all! Deadline:

  • Boren Fellowships - January 24, 2024 Boren Scholarships - January 31, 2024

Award:

  • $8,000 (8-11 weeks, available for STEM students only)

  • $12,500 (semester program)

  • $25,000 (academic year program)

Eligibility:

1. U.S. citizens at the time of the national application deadline

2. A high school graduate, or have earned a GED

3. At least 18 years of age or older at the time of the national application deadline

4. Planning an overseas program in a country outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand

5. Planning to study in a country of which they are not a citizen

6. Matriculated for the duration of their Boren Awards-funded program in an undergraduate or graduate degree program located within the United States and accredited by a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education THE BRIDGING FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP


The United States-Japan Bridging Foundation, in partnership with the Bridging Project Clearinghouse at the American Association of Teachers of Japan, grants scholarships to U.S. undergraduate students desiring to study in Japan for a semester or a full academic year. Each year, around 100 scholarships are given to applicants who display a keen interest in pursuing higher education in Japan and demonstrate a need for financial support. Open: January 2024 Deadline: March 15, 2024

Award: $2,500 - $4,000


Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be enrolled as undergraduates in a college or university in the United States before and during the time they are studying abroad. 2. Their study in Japan must last for at least three months and must earn credit that will transfer to their home campus in the US.

ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS


For decades, the Rotary Foundation has been a cornerstone in humanitarian endeavors, spanning from local service projects to global initiatives. Through the Rotary's Global Grants program, students pursuing graduate-level coursework or research in fields like Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, Education and Literacy, and Community and Economic Development can receive substantial support. Deadline: Varies

Award: $30,000 Degree Level: Masters Eligibility: To be approved, your application must clearly describe how your project, scholarship, or vocational training team:

1. Is sustainable — include plans for long-term success after the global grant funds have been spent

2. Includes measurable goals

3. Aligns with one of Rotary's areas of focus

4. Responds to real community needs — any club or district that applies for a global grant to support a humanitarian project or a vocational training team must conduct a community assessment first and design the project based on what they learn through that assessment.
